The Great American Dog Show and the Chicago Challenge Cup

Join us Saturday after dark in the elegant Arie Crown Theater for an evening of glitz, glamour and glory!

We promised to make the Great American Dog Show the premier event for dog lovers, and it reaches its peak Saturday night as we crown our ultimate winners. Cheer for your favorite of the six finalists for the Chicago Challenge Cup, which pits professionally and owner-handled dogs in a battle for dogdom’s second richest prize of $20,000! Will it be one of the top dogs in the country? Or could it be an unknown underdog? Or maybe even one of the dogs featured on The Road to the Great American Dog Show television special on CBS? It’s all up to our surprise judge, unknown to all the contestants until he or she enters the ring!

We’re excited for you to be part of the premier IKC evening AKCTV-televised group event

Perhaps the winner will be amongst the seven finalists for the National Owner Handled Series Best in Show, also on stage! Some of the country’s best owner-handlers—and owner-handled dogs—will vie for the coveted NOHS Best in Show!
 
Or perhaps it will be one of the almost 200 Best of Breed winners trying for a group win Saturday night, and with it, the chance to compete for the ultimate prize as the evening events progress to their climax: Best in Show at the Great American Dog Show brought to you by the International Kennel Club of Chicago!
 
It’s an evening of formal dress for our judges and contestants, but our spectators can dress as formally or informally as they wish. Just remember—you’ll be rubbing shoulders with dogdom’s glitterati, so be prepared to see and be seen! And while you’re at it, relax after a long day with a cocktail and snacks while you mingle with old friends and make new ones. We’re excited for you to be part of the premier IKC evening AKCTV-televised group event, joining other such prestigious events at top shows in New York, Philadelphia and Orlando. Chicagoans, let’s show the world where the real dog lovers live!
