Chicago Challenge Cup

The three shows in the January cluster will serve as the qualifying events for the $25,000 Chicago Challenge Cup (the “Challenge Cup”) sponsored by the Canine Chronicle to be held with the Chicago Dog Show on August 26, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Chicago Challenge Cup will invite dogs based on the following criteria:

  • Dogs ranked in the Top 10 of their respective Groups according to The Canine Chronicle all-breed published statistics for events held from January 1, 2023 through May 31, 2023.
  • NOHS dogs ranked in the Top 10 of their respective Groups according to the AKC statistics for events held from September 21, 2022 through May 31, 2023.
  • Regular, NOHS, Miscellaneous, and Open Show Group First winners from all three days of the International Windy City Winter Cluster held on January 6, 7 and 8, 2023 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
  • The Overall Coonhound Bench Show Champion from the Windy Cindy Cluster awarded on January 8, 2023 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Chicago Challenge Cup

These qualifiers will be invited to compete in the semi-final portion of the Challenge Cup on Friday, August 25, 2023. Six finalists will be chosen to compete for the Challenge Cup prior to the group judging at the Arie Crowne Theater on the night of Saturday, August 26, 2023.

No additional entry fee is required. Group First winners will automatically be issued an invitation to compete for the Challenge Cup in August. The winner of the Challenge will receive a cash prize of $20,000, with an additional $5,000 awarded to three charities of IKC's choosing.
